My Approach

My Approach

Your anxiety will get better as you learn new ways to care for yourself. You are worth this effort.

My Approach

I believe in the mind-body-spirit connection.

You will learn about mindfulness practices that will help you cultivate more peace in your life.  I  help build on your strengths to clarify and achieve life goals.

When you come see me, I will use a combination of evidence-based treatment techniques to help you calm your nervous system and find ways to feel peace Now such as Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique, also known as “Tapping”), EFT (Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy), Rapid Resolution Therapy, Guided Imagery, Cognitive / Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused therapy methods.

My Uniqueness

I’ve been practicing yoga for over 16 years, and I have a deep spiritual practice that helps me stay grounded to do the work that I do with clients. I practice mindfulness in my daily life and teach this to my clients, because I know how much it benefits me personally to stay in the present moment.

Many clients come to me who have previously been to therapists who were not trained to treat anxiety, or trauma or couples counseling specifically.

When I worked at the VA Hospital in Boston, I realized that there was more to counseling than just talking to my clients. I realized that people who have anxiety or PTSD need to have very targeted treatment and skills to heal their anxieties.

When you come to FeelPeaceNow, you will receive the benefit of my extensive training in evidence-based modalities that really help you feel MUCH calmer and help you make peace with your past. You will often feel relief in the very first session due to my vast experience and training with EFT/Tapping. I hope you will be among the many clients who report healing from anxiety and trauma due to using the techniques I teach them.

Entrusting your relationship to a skilled couples therapist

When your primary love relationship is feeling awful, you want a skilled couples therapist to help you re-navigate back to loving experiences again.  You need a therapist who has undergone extensive training in treating couples. I’m here to help you, via the work of Dr. Sue Johnson’s Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy programs.  I stay updated on the latest research and participate in the training of new couples therapists. Your relationship will benefit  from the best researched and respected couples therapy programs that boosts a very high rate of effectiveness for helping couples reconnect.

I also am experienced in treating other therapists who are in need of counseling. Being trained as a therapist does not make one immune to the troubles of life. If you are a therapist, know that you will be treated with kindness and respect (as are all my clients) and it is my honor to help you through any tough time you are facing.
